Gillian Pickford (Grant Manager Landfill Tax Grant Scheme) is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Trust provides grant assistance to local community groups and organisations for environmental projects. The money comes from Cumbria Waste Management and Lakeland Waste Management as a portion of their tax bill under the landfill tax scheme. Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust (CWMET) supports projects across Carlisle, Eden, Allerdale, Copeland, South Lakes and Barrow districts. The project must be within a 10 mile radius of a landfill site. Please contact us for further information and an application pack.

The Trust accepts applications 4 times a year. The deadline dates for 2008/09 are:-

14^th November 2008 for a decision in January 2009

13^th February 2009 for a decision in April 2009

15^th May 2009 for a decision in July 2009

14^th August 2009 for a decision in October 2009
