Gillian Pickford (Grant Manager Landfill Tax Grant Scheme) is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9.30 and 3.30.

The Trust provides grant assistance to local community groups and organisations for environmental projects. The money comes from Cumbria Waste Management and Lakeland Waste Management as a portion of their tax bill under the landfill tax scheme.  Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust (CWMET) supports projects across Carlisle, Eden, Allerdale, Copeland, South Lakes and Barrow districts.  The project must be within a 10 mile radius of a landfill site.

The Trust accepts applications 4 times a year.  The deadline dates for 2010 are:-

12th February 2010 for a decision in April 2010

14th May 2010 for a decision in July 2010

13th August 2010 for a decision in October 2010

12th November 2010 for a decision in January 2011.
